Bike Safety Campaign, Free Bike Light Distribution Underway
The City of Davis, in collaboration with UC Davis, Davis Bicycles! and other organizations is currently engaged in a community outreach campaign in which bicyclists are asked to sign a pledge to ride safely. Those who sign the pledge who don’t already have a bike headlight can get a free one as part of this campaign. Some of the free lights have been purchased using proceeds from the Clips of Faith beer and film festival, held last month as a fundraiser for Davis Bicycles! Read the recent news article…
Volunteers Needed: Chavez School Bike Rodeo, Oct. 17; bike counting
The Davis Bicycles! School Committee is looking for volunteers for bike-checking and helmet-fitting at the bike rodeo at Cesar Chavez Elementary School on October 17 at 1:30 PM. The school is located at 1221 Anderson Road. This is the largest elementary school in Davis, so we’d like to have as many bike-checkers and helmet-checkers as we can get to keep the wait lines as short as possible. Bike checkers are asked bring their own bike repair tools. The School Committee also needs volunteers to count bikes at Patwin, Pioneer and Korematsu Elementary schools once a month. If you’d like to help with either of these projects, please contact Christal: chrystal2waters@yahoo.com
Thank You, Volunteers!
We wish to thank everyone who helped out with our annual events, Bike Loopalooza in May and Clips of Faith in August. Both were DB!’s most successful to date. You are awesome and we could not have done it without you!
