About Davis Bicycles!

Davis Bicycles! is a citizen group dedicated to promoting bicycling in Davis and addressing issues of advocacy, safety, transportation and education.

Vision Statement

The bicycle is the symbol for the City of Davis. Davis Bicycles!’ vision for Davis is a city where bicycling is the priority mode of travel. Davis Bicycles! is committed to challenging and inspiring the citizen of Davis to reconnect with nature and their neighbors in the pursuit of better health, kindred community and the pure joy of riding bicycles for all purposes. Davis Bicycles! envisions a city that tirelessly promotes and preserves a safe, comfortable, clean, aesthetic, and enjoyable bicycle transportation system for cyclists of all ages, all year round. Davis Bicycles! works to strengthen the City of Davis' “Platinum Bicycle City” designation by identifying improvements to bicycling infrastructure and policy which will lead to the greater use of bicycles in Davis. It is the vision of Davis Bicycles! that the rich bicycle heritage of the City of Davis will continue to thrive as the capitol of bicycle culture in America.

Mission Statement

Davis Bicycles! mission is to encourage and promote bicycling, increase safety, improve infrastructure, influence policy and advocate for a vital bicycle culture in Davis.

We do this in the following ways:

• Advocate for adequate funding for a complete bicycle transportation infrastructure.
• Provide bicycle education and advocacy for Davis residents.
• Work to increase percentage of all types of bicycle ridership in Davis.
• Ensure that bicycles are recognized as a mainstream and superior transportation option.
